Activities in Finland
KVT is much more than just an organization that provides possibilities to volunteer abroad. KVT is a volunteer-led organization, where volunteers make the decisions about policies and activities. There are a wide variety of activities that are planned, organised and created by our volunteers with the support from the office staff.
Being an active member of KVT is a chance to learn about the NGO sector in practice, to meet new people and to learn networking skills by creating and sharing new ideas. KVT values “can do” attitude and we welcome new ideas initiated that can help us to develop our activities! We invite people of all ages with different interests and backgrounds to take part. Previous knowledge is not required: you will learn by doing. Usually volunteering in KVT happens through specific working groups, where the participants and activity levels vary between seasons and by the personal interests of the volunteer.
There are many ways to participate: some tasks require more commitment, but there are also short-term and less time consuming tasks available. KVT’s activities are open also to migrants living in Finland (Finnish language skills are not mandatory as the common language during workcamps is English and our different working groups can also work in English). In addition, we provide opportunities for asylum seekers living in Finland to take part in our workcamps.
If you represent a non-profit organization, foundation, educational institution etc. and are in need of volunteers, please contact us about organising a workcamp in Finland. We are also searching for camp leaders to take care of the international volunteers and their group spirit in each Finnish camp, so if that sounds like you, please get in touch!
