Jos kesäloma- tai työpaikkasuunnitelmat menivätkin mönkään, voit vielä hakea kansainväliselle vapaaehtoistyöleirille tekemään konkreettisia tekoja paremman maailman edistämiseksi. Leiritietokannasta löytyy edelleen yli 500 leirimahdollisuutta ympäri maailman.

Leiri on hieno tapa saada kokemusta kansainvälisessä ryhmässä toimimisesta ja antaa panos projektille, joka hyödyttää paikallista yhteisöä. Samalla leiri on hyvä tilaisuus päästä kurkistamaan pariksi viikoksi leirikohteen paikalliseen elämänmenoon.

Leirinhakukoneesta voit etsiä leirejä esimerkiksi leirin ajankohdan, teeman tai maan mukaan. Tässä muutama poiminta heinäkuun aikana järjestettävistä eri teemaisista leireistä Euroopassa: Luonnonsuojelua Espanjassa, lasten kuntoutuskeskuksen kehittämistä ja käsitöitä Ukrainassa sekä keskiaikaisen linnan kunnostamista Ranskassa. ES-MAD 10.4 – GREFA: Environmental and Wild Life Protection Centre 

Spain, 1.-15.7.2018

Description: GREFA is an NGO created in 1981 for the study and conservation of nature. They develop different and complementary activities: animal recovery, research; preservation of species, community education and awareness raising campaigns. The Wild Fauna Recovery Centre is the main focus of the organization. Since its beginnings, it has given veterinary assistance to more than 40,000 wild animals, hosting every year around 4000 animals. The Wild Fauna Recovery Centre provides the necessary care to all animals admitted to later release them back into nature. It also organises trainings and environmental education activities for all ages

Type of Work: Construction of nest boxes for kestrels and owls within the project of biological control of the peasant topillo. Placement of the nests in the town of Pozoantiguo, a town near Villalar de los Comuneros Works in the preparation of the Interpretation Center of the nature of Villalar de los Comuneros. Preparation work for the environmental and cultural path in Villalar de los Comuneros.

UA-SVI 7.1 – Touch a fairy tale (Kharkiv)

Ukraine, 1.-10.7.2018

Description: The workcamp will take place at the rehabilitation center ”Право вибору/Pravo vyboru” (The right for a choice) for children with disabilities, including visually impaired and blind children. The centre owned a two floor separate building with a small garden, located in one of sleeping quarters of Kharkiv. The aim of the workcamp is to create different tools and materials for rehabilitation and development of blind/ with bad vision kids and help the staff of the centre.

Type of Work: Depends on skills and ideas of the participants. We will work mostly with hands, creating sensoric stands for playground, textil sensoric books, sets for handicraft, postcards, learning/game sets, adopt board games etc. Initiative and creativity are highly appreciated! Those, who are not into handicraft, but would like to learn, are welcome as well! Volunteers will work with the variety of materials as carton, paper, fabric, plastic, wood etc. It is also possible to help teachers working with kids.

Study Theme: You will learn about the specific of children with disabilities, their rehabilitation and how to create tools and materials with your own hands. You will have a chance to learn how to lead a blind person as well as learn what is braille and how braille embosser works.

FR-SCI 12.4 – Medieval Castle of Blâmont

France, 1.-21.7.2018

Description: The Clef de Voûte Association dedicates immense time and effort to preserving the remarkable and historical Blâmont village Castle, with its five towers, large chapel, and renowned cellar. On the second week of every month Clef de Voûte holds their annual collective workcamp for local volunteers.

Type of Work: The tasks vary day by day : volunteers may be asked to work on the castle, cleaning the site, or cutting the vegetation of the walls to conducting masonry work, restoration of the artillery terrace, or renovating the top of the donjon. Some tasks are more physically demanding, while others a more relaxed and fun. Volunteers work as a team, thus are expected to take turns ensuring everyone gets to try all the tasks, and more importantly have fun!

Study Theme: Restoring and preserving a national monument to provide the local population with access to their heritage and history.
